Charitable Giving

Chapstick Charity

Each month, we sell chapstick at our front desk to benefit a select charity. Chapsticks sell for $1.00, and all proceeds go directly to that month’s charity. With the help of our extremely generous clients, we have managed to sponsor pets in need, local non-profits, and even help local families in need.

Newtown Vet’s Annual Pet Fair

Our largest charitable effort is our yearly Pet Fair, for which Newtown Vet absorbs all production costs. The day is free for all guests, with Newtown Vet raising money solely through raffles, our duck pond, and our donation bins to benefit all participating charitable organizations. Half of the day’s income is divided between the charities that are on site for the fair; the other half of fundraised money is given to one particular organization, chosen in advance. Each year we select a different charity to benefit.

People and Paws for a Worthy Cause

In 2016, Newtown Vet developed a separate charity initiative dedicated to hosting yearly events to benefit worthwhile charities. Beginning with a 5k race and dog walk in November of 2016, Newtown Vet plans to continue this work with a variety of events and fundraisers in the future. By doing so, we hope to connect with people with many different interests, help them to connect with their pets in new ways, and in doing so, benefit an underserved charity. Unlike our Pet Fair charitable efforts, People and Paws is intended to benefit people who are in need, not just pets.

Current Projects:

A Family In Need This Christmas

Thanks to Pathways PA, Newtown Vet has been matched with a family that could really use some holiday love this year. Our family includes a single mother and her 6 children, all under the age of 7. With your help, we can give this sweet family a joyful, happy holday (and provide them with some essential items to get back on their feet).

  • Visit our Amazon WishList and choose which items you want to give! You’ll also get to see which family member will enjoy your generous gift.
  • Not a fan of online shopping? Cash or checks may be donated at Newtown Vet Hospital, which will be used to ensure that this family’s needs are met.
  • PLEASE BE SURE ALL DONATIONS WILL ARRIVE BY WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 12th.

Pet Food Drive

As we cuddle up with our own well-loved pets this year, let’s remember the millions of animals who sadly do not have homes and loving owners. We may not be able to rescue them all, but we can help the shelters that do! Newtown Vet is collecting pet food of any type to donate to Women’s Humane Society and the Burlington County Shelter.

Annual Newtown Vet Coat Drive

Time to clean out that closet and give that coat you never wear to someone who would love it like new! On behalf of the Rescue Mission of Trenton, we are collecting new and gently used coats for adults and children of all ages. Non-perishable food items will also be accepted.

Newtown Vet Calendars

Purchase one of our Newtown Vet calendars ($15 each) and enjoy a charming collection of adorable and sometimes silly pet photos all next year! These make great gifts for your animal-loving friends! All proceeds will be donated to Red Paw Emergency Relief Team, an emergency response organization that serves our local communities by providing emergency transport, shelter, and vet care to pets affected by residential disasters.
