Timothy J. Ireland, V.M.D., owner

Dr. Ireland was born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia. He attended Holy Ghost Prep and Delaware Valley College prior to veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania. Graduating in 1990, his first job was at Newtown Veterinary Hospital. He purchased NVH from Fred Guenther, V.M.D. in November of 1992. Outside the office, the loves of his life are his wife, Lynda, son Timmy II, and daughters Abby and Angelina. His non-human family members include a golden retriever (Kato), Shih Tzu (Wolfie), a black calico (Puppy), a gray and white cat (Silver) and a black cat (Inky). Other than veterinary medicine and surgery, his interests include singing, soccer, and track and field. He likes all aspects of practice, but especially enjoys soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. Doctor Ireland was elected to the executive committee of the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association for 2003-2006. He served as VP in 2003, president-elect in 2004, and president in 2005! This volunteer organization is the largest group of organized veterinarians in the state. http://www.pavma.org

He has worked as an emergency service veterinarian at Quakertown Veterinary Clinic and Columbus Veterinary Hospital. Prior to becoming a veterinarian, he was a research ecologist who specialized in seabirds. He spent several summers in the Antarctic and Norwegian arctic. Dr. Volkman has lived in Newtown since 1986 with his wife Ginny, the director of the Northampton Township Library, and their two children, Brett and Sarah

Judith E. Palm V.M.D.

Dr. Palm is a New York City native who came to this region in 1986 after college. She is a 1990 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and a classmate of Dr. Ireland. She has practiced at a cat only hospital in Philadelphia as well as New York State before returning to our area. She practiced at a veterinary clinic in New Jersey prior to coming to NVH. She currently lives in Hatboro with her husband, David, and three cats, Blackbeard, Sluggo, and Pearl.

Happy 10th Anniversary Dr. Palm  1998 - 2008

CUSTOMER REVIEW  -  "I was very impressed with my 1st visit with Frank. The care and concern from Dr Palm really made me feel as if I was a true family member. When I made my follow up call, I was put on hold and Dr Palm got on the phone. What a surprise! I thought the receptionist was just going to take a message, I didn't realize I would speak with her direct. I have nothing but praise . Thank you for all you have done.

Angela Summers V.M.D.

Dr. Summers was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. She graduated with honors from the University of Richmond with a B.S. in Biology in 1997 and is a graduate from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine class of 2002. She joined our staff in June 2002.

She is especially interested in educating clients about their pet's healthcare. She is also interested in canine behavior and worked in the Behavior Clinic at the Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania during veterinary school. There she observed that behavior problems in the pet population are very common and can often result in the owner surrendering the pet to a shelter or even euthanasia. She feels that this can often be avoided through proper training and behavior modification as the problems develop.

She lives in Yardley with her husband Danny, their son Jack, their dogs, Lexie and Casey, and their cat, Sadie.
CUSTOMER REVIEW  -  "A generous donation in Dr. Summers' honor was received by us (Bucks County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) from your client J. K., describing Dr. Summers as kind, caring and wonderful! This gift will brighten the day for animals at our shelter in need of care."

Scott Rosenbloom, V.M.D.

Dr. Rosenbloom joined our staff in July of 2003.  Dr. Rosenbloom was raised in the southern New Jersey area, then spent his formative years in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.  He graduated with honors from Lafayette College in Easton, PA in 1995 with degrees in English and Psychology, then returned to the Philadelphia area to attend the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997, where he obtained his degree in 2001.  In addition to veterinary medicine, Dr. Rosenbloom has worked in insurance, as a tennis pro, and as an instructor and staff trainer for a children's ski school in the Poconos where he first learned that dogs and children are really his peer groups.  He now resides in the Newtown area.

CUSTOMER REVIEW  -  "Dr Rosenbloom and his assistant were very gentle."

Jaime Logan V.M.D.

Dr. Logan grew up on a horse farm in Newtown and went to Council Rock High School. She graduated from Dickinson College with a B.A. in Political Science and worked in banking for a short time. Having spent her childhood with horse dirt under her nails, she came to the realization that wearing a suit to work every day was not for her and immediately applied to vet school. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. She completed a one year Fellowship in Transfusion Medicine at Penn and since then, she has loved practicing veterinary medicine.
Dr. Logan started at NVH in June 2008. Her position at Newtown Veterinary Hospital allows her the opportunity to practice high quality medicine, build lasting relationships with her patients and their families and raise her own family in a community she loves.
