In Patient Coordinator
I was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey but moved to Newtown when I was little and have been living here ever since. My love for animals began when I became a volunteer at Indian Walk Veterinary Hospital in November 2004. I began working as a Kennel Assistant for while I was attending Villa Joseph Marie High School. After graduating, I was accepted into West Virginia University where I received a bachelor's in Animal and Veterinary Science in December 2009. After graduating from West Virginia University, I began working as a technician here at NVH. I hope to be a part of this family for years to come! I am currently in the process of applying to veterinary school and hope to become a successful veterinarian someday.
I have one cat named Princess. Princess was a stray kitten who I took in and nursed back to health. She is the love of my life and I couldn't imagine life without her.
Hello, My name is Justin and I am one of the Animal Caretakers here at Newtown Veterinary Hospital. I started working here in July 2009. My favorite parts of this job are walking the dogs on their extended walks and caring for Jasper the Blue-Fronted Amazon Parrot that lives in reception.
Hi, my name is Kadie. I joined the Newtown Veterinary Hospital team in September 2012 and work as an animal care taker. I graduated from Delaware Valley College with a degree in small animal science and have been working in a veterinary setting since December 2009. I grew up on a farm and have loved animals all my life. My husband and I just added a new member to our family, our Cockapoo born in August 2012 named Chip whom we adore! I love watching movies, reading, spending time with my family and cooking.
I graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 2012 with a degree in English. Despite my love for writing, I decided to pursue my other interests in travel and animal care, particularly with exotics and native wildlife. After graduating, I spent a month working at a tiger sanctuary in Thailand, followed by servral months working at a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center in Italy.
When I returned home, I was able to find a job at the Philadelphia Zoo where I worked with the ponies, camels, and draft horses. As a Newtown resident, I'm thrilled to be part of the Newtown Veterinary Hospital family. Working in the kennels lets me build a close relationship with the clients and ensure that they receive just as much love while boarding as they do at home.
I have four cats (Jack, Jazz, Shelly, and Cookie) and one silly pup (Maggie), so being surrounded by your pets all day at work really makes me feel at home. In my spare time I volunteer at the AARK Wildlife Center, write, and stay as active as possible.
My mother fled Germany to Africa during the war. There in Africa she met and married my father. I was born in Zambia and lived there, Zimbabwe and South Africa. I went to boarding school in the south of England at St. Mary's then to Switzerland to learn French. I have traveled Europe and even had the Mumps in Manchester, England!
I moved to the United States in 1968 and have lived in the Philadelphia area ever since. Miriam is a resident of the Wood's School in Langhorne, PA, a place that serves individuals with special needs. She has been with Newtown Veterinary Hospital since 1996 and helps us clean up after and walk our dogs. This job provides her the opportunity to work and interact with the animals and the public.
